TOGETHER AGAINST STIGMA  CONFERENCE - DAY 1

Day 1 : C2C was delighted to be able to put up a booth at the 3 Day (3rd oct - 5th oct) TAS (Together Against Stigma) Conference at Sands Expo and Convention Centre.

There was a lot of sharing on various strategies and ideas to remove Stigma from our community through talks/presentations during the conference (Day 1). Club2Care displayed its services and its mission so as to raise awareness on mental health by distributing C2C brochures and other beneficial mental health brochures.

The highlight of the event was the presence of her excellency, President of Republic of Singapore, Mdm Halimah Yacob at our Club2Care booth and as the guest of honour of the event!

TOGETHER AGAINST STIGMA CONFERENCE - DAY 2 & 3     

Day 2 : A wonderfully fulfilling two days at the 9th International Together Against (mental health) Stigma conference at MBS. Club2Care had a booth to raise awareness of our work at the conference. C2C attended very informative sessions and lots of learning and takeaway.s

 

On 4th of Oct, the Vice President of Club2Care, Lalitha Venkatasubramanian and Dr Deva Priya Appan, Senior Resident at IMH, gave a presentation on the lessons from a Classical dance production, Finding Dignity – An exploration of mental illness through Bharatanatyam which premiered in Singapore in October 2016. The C2C booth continued to be active on day 2 of the conference, raising awareness about mental health, raising awareness about the efforts and services of C2C!

Day 3 : The TAS Conference 2019 continued from morning until noon. Dr Hariram, our President participated in a discussion which included sharing by peers.  Mental health stigma as it is a global issue and we need to come together to tackle it. We need to shift mindsets and help society to look beyond the diagnostic labels of mental illnesses and to let people with mental health issues into our communities and hearts.

C2C was very thankful towards the C2C Volunteers for their contribution in manning the booth and to the team from IMH which provided support for the production during the conference!
